If you're an Alabama male of a certain (middle) age and haven't gotten around to planning that family you've always wanted, you might want to step to it. That's according to a most-unlikely-to-pass bill put forth by Rep. Rolanda Hollis that would require all men to undergo a vasectomy at age 50 or "after the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first"—and foot the bill, to boot. Hollis' point here isn't so much late fatherhood or population control, but highlighting the state's abortion ban, which eliminates abortion in all cases but endangering the life of the mother, notes ABC News. "Many have seen HB-238 as an outrageous overstep; yet, year after year the majority party continues to introduce new legislation that tries to dictate a woman's body and her reproductive rights. We should view this as the same outrageous overstep in authority," Hollis says. (More vasectomy stories.)
