"Love will prevail," Marianne Williamson said when she dropped out of the Democratic race on Jan. 10. On Sunday, she said Bernie Sanders will also prevail. Williamson endorsed Sanders for president during a surprise appearance at his rally in Austin on Sunday, CNN reports. Williamson—who endorsed Sanders during his previous run for president, but campaigned for Andrew Yang ahead of the Iowa caucuses—praised Sanders for "taking a stand for a long time." "He has been consistent, he has been convicted, he has been committed," she said. "And now it's time, I'm here and you're here, because it's time for us to take a stand with Bernie."
Williamson said Sanders' growing momentum shows that he can defeat President Trump in November. "What happened in Nevada on Saturday was extraordinary, and the energy is unquestionably with Bernie," she tweeted, saying she will do everything she can to help the senator's "political revolution." Over the weekend, Sanders also held rallies in El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio, where he predicted that he would win the state's Democratic primary on Super Tuesday, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
