It appears the moderate wing of the Democratic party will indeed close ranks around Joe Biden: Shortly after they dropped out of the 2020 presidential race, both Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar will endorse Biden, their former rival. The New York Times cites a source who says Buttigieg plans to endorse the former VP at a Biden campaign event in Dallas Monday night; Klobuchar is also expected to be there and do the same. Also throwing his weight behind Biden Monday: Former senate majority leader Harry Reid, USA Today reports. The endorsements come on the eve of Super Tuesday, when Biden hopes to gain a big advantage over frontrunner Bernie Sanders.

Reid's statement: "Joe Biden’s strength of character and deep experience stand in the starkest contrast to Trump’s amorality, corruption and utter incompetence. Biden will be a much-needed stabilizing force following Trump’s disastrous term, offering a positive and progressive alternative to Trump’s dark vision of racism, xenophobia and policies built on cruelty and exclusion. I believe Biden is best able to defeat Donald Trump and enact the policies we all care about." Politico reports donations are also pouring in to Biden's campaign suddenly, and a Biden adviser says "it's raining endorsements." Sen. Tammy Duckworth also endorsed the former VP Monday. Also still in the presidential race are Elizabeth Warren, Mike Bloomberg, and Tulsi Gabbard. (More Election 2020 stories.)
