And you thought North West was a weird name. Elon Musk and Grimes, who welcomed a baby boy on Monday, may have topped all other celebrities in the unique name game. In response to a tweet asking for the boy's name, Musk responded, "X Æ A-12 Musk." There's a very good chance he was joking. After all, he used a filter to apply fake tattoos to the boy's face in the first photo he released, also in response to a tweet, per the Daily Dot. Then again, it also seems an appropriate name for the son of a man who sent a car into space and claimed to have once been an alien.
Still, some Twitter users set to work deciphering what they viewed as a code. One came up with the name "X Ash Archangel," having determined the Æ ligature is called ash and the internal code name for the Lockheed A-12 was Archangel. Musk bestowed a like on the answer, but users continued to churn out alternatives. One guessed Neal, since "in Norwegian from Æ, only E is heard" and "L is the 12th letter of the English alphabet." While we await confirmation on the name, Mashable points out the relevance of Æ, noting Grimes released a song in 2019 titled "4ÆM." (Unique names can be pricey.)
