Last year, Ann Arbor ranked at the top of WalletHub's list of the most educated US cities. This year, the Michigan metropolis takes home top honors again in the site's latest ranking. To see where the most educated Americans are settling down, WalletHub looked at 150 of the nation's biggest metropolitan statistical areas (meaning they can encompass multiple cities in proximity to each other) across 11 key metrics in two main categories: educational attainment, which looks at the share of adults ages 25 and older who have either a high school diploma or some sort of higher-education degree; and quality of education and attainment gap, which includes such factors as the quality of an area's public school system and racial and gender education gaps. See what other cities made the top 10:

  1. Ann Arbor, Mich. (No. 1 in both main categories)
  2. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif.
  3. Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-Va.-Md.-W. Va.
  4. Durham-Chapel Hill, NC
  5. San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, Calif.
  6. Madison, Wis.
  7. Boston-Cambridge-Newton, Mass.-NH
  8. Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, Wash.
  9. Austin-Round Rock, Texas
  10. Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk, Conn.
