Senator's Video Appearance at Hearing Does Not Go Well
In this image from video, Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., speaks during a virtual hearing Friday. It didn't go well at first.   (US Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs via AP)

A senator dropped some very un-senatorial F-bombs Friday when he had a glitch with his video link. When Sen. Tom Carper's turn came up to question the postmaster general, things went south, reports the Hill. It began when the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee queued up the 73-year-old Delaware senator in the virtual hearing. "Sen. Carper," said Ron Johnson. "Is Sen. Carper there?" Silence. Then as Johnson began to move on to another senator, Carper could be heard saying, "f---, f---, f---!" as the camera suddenly showed him cursing at his computer. Watch it here. The glitch was fixed, and Carper was able to proceed. (More Tom Carper stories.)
