Add geotagging to the list of must-have features for digital photo buffs. Yep, David Pogue writes in the New York Times—no more need to note where you took pictures. The newest Eye-Fi memory card—a WiFi-enabled sliver that uploads pictures automatically—also tags photos with a location. The downside: Coverage is limited to big urban areas in the US and Europe.

That’s because the card doesn’t rely on GPS (try fitting that on a memory card!) but on a system that picks up home and office WiFi networks to pinpoint locations. Where there are few or no WiFi users mapped into the system, there’s no coverage. Eye-Fi geotagging works in about 70% of the populated US and Canada, and 50% of Europe.
