NFL Star Charged After Shoving Photographer

Update: The photographer who was shoved by Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams after Monday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs suffered whiplash, a headache, and a possible minor concussion, per court records—and Adams was on Wednesday charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the incident. ESPN reports Adams is accused of carrying out an "intentional, overt act" that caused "bodily injury." He has a Nov. 10 court date. Any decision from the NFL on its own potential punishment is pending. The photographer has been identified as Ryan Zebley; he was working for ESPN's Monday Night Football as a freelancer. The NFL's Davante Adams might be facing criminal charges for shoving a photographer as he left the field Monday night. Police in Kansas City are investigating the incident involving the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver at Arrowhead Stadium, reports the Kansas City Star. As Adams was leaving the field after a close loss to the Chiefs, he pushed a photographer in his path hard enough to make the man fall. (See video here.) The unidentified man filed a police report saying he had unspecified injuries and had to go to the hospital, reports TMZ.

"He jumped in front of me coming off the field," Adams told reporters after the game, per the AP. "I kind of pushed him. ... I want to apologize to him for that. That was just frustration mixed with him really just running in front of me." Adams later tweeted an apology as well. "Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game," he wrote. "Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran infront of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this."
