It was just his second game with the San Francisco 49ers, but it was a memorable one for Christian McCaffery. The running back ran for one touchdown, a routine part of his job. But he also caught a TD pass and threw one as well, becoming only the fourth player in the modern era to complete this TD hat trick, reports ESPN. All came during the team's 31-14 win over the Los Angeles Rams, per NFL.com. McCaffrey is the first player since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2005 to register the feat, and he joins David Patten and Walter Payton as the only players to do so since the league's 1970 merger.

"Obviously, those things are really cool," McCaffrey said after the game. "I think the biggest thing is coming out with a win." Overall, McCaffrey had 183 yards from scrimmage, 94 on the ground and 55 receiving. The 26-year-old joined the team only 10 days ago, having been acquired from Carolina, per Yahoo Sports. His TD pass was for 34 yards, his catch for 9 yards, and his run was 1 yard. You can watch his highlights here. (More NFL stories.)
