MSNBC has not said who will host the last two hours of every Saturday morning on the network, but it will no longer be Tiffany Cross. The Cross Connection host is leaving the network, Variety reports. Executives told the commentary program's production staff Friday but made no public comment about the change. Cross, whose contract was up, hasn't commented, either, but she "liked" tweets critical of MSNBC's decision on Friday, per the Hill. Her final show was last Saturday.

Cross' bosses reportedly were unhappy with her on-air answering of comments made about her by hosts on other networks, as well as some of her commentaries—though no one has provided any specifics. Viewership was strong among Black people, and Black women especially, which was one of MSNBC's goals. Cross has been a Washington bureau chief for BET and a resident fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics. "To make this move a few days before the critical mid-terms is just unacceptable," reads a tweet by a fellow media personality, Jemele Hill. "There is a larger issue of strong Black pundits, especially women, lacking the internal support to thrive." (More MSNBC stories.)
