Two Philly cops engaged in an intense chase yesterday, using their cruisers and their feet as they took to the streets in pursuit of a fugitive, Inquirer columnist Jill Porter reports. "I don't want to see her put down," Sgt. James DeAngelo said after capturing his quarry, a German Shepherd-beagle mix he named Blue. The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society pronounced her fit for adoption. "She was a little timid and shy but really sweet,” said a PAWS manager. “We'll make sure she gets a wonderful home with someone fabulous.” (More Philadelphia stories.)
