Obama: 'Presumptuous' Nominee

Barack Obama isn’t the president yet, but no one seems to have broken that news to Barack Obama. The Democrats' presumptive, and increasingly "presumptuous," nominee spent yesterday cavorting about Washington as though he already owned the place, writes Dana Milbank of the Washington Post. Obama met with the Treasury secretary, the Federal Reserve, and Pakistan's PM, before holding a presidential-style pep rally on Capitol Hill.  

Obama traveled in a motorcade more closely guarded than the actual president’s. Legislators arrived early to his address, as they would for the State of the Union, and the Secret Service obligingly hurried Obama through the president’s side door. The President-elect spoke of winning in November, but surely that’s just a formality, writes Milbank—he’s already asked aides to prepare his White House transition. (More Barack Obama stories.)
