Trump Appears to Nod Off in Courtroom

Donald Trump was taking a lot of flak for apparently nodding off in the courtroom during day one of proceedings in his hush money trial. As the New York Times puts it, he seemed at times "exhausted," "his mouth going slack and his head drooping onto his chest" before later "jolting back awake." (He was animated at other times, appearing irritated when the judge did not agree right away that he could miss court to attend his son Barron's graduation and laughing when one of his social media posts about Michael Cohen was read aloud.) Coverage was abundant:

• Newsweek reports that Trump apparently "glared" at the Times reporter (Maggie Haberman), who was first to break the story.

• Sound familiar? That could be because Trump has often referred to Biden as "Sleepy Joe," Axios reports.
