An 85-year-old Pennsylvania woman foiled a thief by pointing her .22-caliber revolver at him and holding him at bay until police arrived, the Uniontown Herald-Standard reports. A 17-year-old broke into Leda Smith's home Sunday afternoon, but before the intruder could steal anything, the great-grandmother retrieved her gun, forced the burglar to call 911, and told him to lie face-down on the ground.

"I saw him move by my keyboard near the wall but I just walked right on past him to the bedroom and got my gun," Smith said. "I said, 'What are you doing in my house?' He just kept saying he didn't do it." (More guns stories.)
