(DENVER7/KMGH via AP) Firefighters who responded to a Colorado dairy farm for a "confined space rescue" were met with a horrific scene on Wednesday night. Six bodies were recovered, with their deaths suspected to be linked to toxic gas exposure, NBC News reports. "Crews responded and took appropriate precautions to enter the confined space to perform rescue operations," Southeast Weld Fire District Chief Tom Beach said in a statement. "Unfortunately, District personnel recovered six deceased individuals from the space." Three people were also treated and released at a nearby hospital. No additional information will be released until the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has completed its probe into the tragedy, which could take up to six months, ABC News reports. But the Weld County Sheriff's Office tells Fox News no foul play is suspected. "Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the workers who lost their lives at the dairy farm in Keenesburg, Colorado," an OSHA spokesperson says in a statement. The Dairy Farmers of America, which confirms the location is one of its member farms, says, "We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts and most sincere condolences go out to the friends and families of the deceased."
