Canvassing Upstate, Kennedy Dodges Queries

Caroline Kennedy pulled a Sarah Palin today, the New York Times reports, avoiding questions about her qualifications to take Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat. After a listening session with the mayor of upstate Syracuse, aides whisked her into a waiting SUV. “Hopefully I can come back and answer all those questions,” she called out.

“I told Gov. Paterson I’d be honored to be considered for the position of United States senator,” Kennedy said in a brief statement. “There’s a lot of good people in this community that the governor is considering. He’s laid out a process and I’m proud to be part of that.” (More New York stories.)
