Axelrod to Warren Haters: Get Over It

To those who object to Rick Warren delivering the invocation at Barack Obama's inauguration, chief adviser David Axelrod has a message: chill out. On today's Meet the Press, he heralded the choice as political bridge-building: A conservative pastor praying for a progressive president "is a healthy thing and a good thing for our country," he said.

Axelrod also said Obama will fulfill his promise to cut taxes for the middle class and raise those of the richest, but didn't say when, Politico reports. Meanwhile, on Fox News Sunday, Laura Bush defended her husband's tenure and said he will continue to meet with political dissidents. “The days of the burka aren’t over,” she said. “That’s all the more reason the international community needs to stay involved in Afghanistan.”
