Barack Obama is poised to be, by far, the most wired president ever, reports CNN. With more than a million MySpace friends, 3.7 million Facebook pals, and online access to more than 13 million voters, Obama invented a new media model and will be able to communicate in ways far beyond the capacity of previous presidents.

“Thirteen million people pushing a button, sending an e-mail to their elected representatives, making a phone call, taking action, is a powerful, powerful lobbying tool,” says one Democratic strategist. Obama is using Youtube and Change.gov to reach out to voters, who are free to post ideas and rate others, the best of which will be sent to the new president’s desk. “The rebooting of our democracy has begun,” exclaimed one tech expert.
