Stocks took a modest bounce at the open, after a Monday session that left the Dow near its bear-market lows, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Dow climbed 20 points to 7,958, while the S&P and Nasdaq inched up fractionally. In individual stocks, Motorola plunged 8.6% after swinging to a fourth-quarter loss of $3.58 billion.
