Roland Burris denied today that an affidavit sent to the Illinois House conveyed a shift in his testimony in the Rod Blagojevich scandal, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. “There was no change,” Burris said of three statements he gave to the committee that recommended Blago's impeachment. Burris also called rumors that he filed the last statement at the request of federal investigators “positively not true.”

Burris said he had not amended his story since testifying before an Illinois House panel in January, when he said he had had no contact with representatives of Blagojevich. Since then, Burris revealed he had contact with five, along with Blago’s brother. Burris says the new information was released as part of an agreement with the panel to ensure his testimony was accurate. Burris did not give money to the Blagojevich campaign.
