Peterson's Stepbrother: I Helped Dump Stacy's Body

When Thomas Morphey helped stepbrother Drew Peterson load a blue barrel into his car, there was no doubt in his mind what was inside: Stacy Peterson’s body. A distraught Morphey tried to kill himself, then turned state’s evidence. But 17 months later, he’s never appeared in court, and he feels “betrayed” by the lack of progress in the murder investigation, he tells the Joliet Herald News.

That night—Oct. 28, 2007—Peterson told his stepbrother Stacy was cheating on him, and asked Morphey if he could live with knowing Peterson had killed someone. “Yeah, I guess,” said Morphey, assuming Peterson meant Stacy’s boyfriend. But by the time Peterson asked him to haul the barrel, Morphey had figured out who was inside. “This never happened,” he says Peterson told him. (More Drew Peterson stories.)
