Jim Cramer took his lumps tonight from Jon Stewart in their highly anticipated Daily Show faceoff. "I understand that you want to make finance entertaining, but it's not a game," Stewart told Cramer, adding an expletive. "I can't reconcile the brilliance and knowledge that you have of the intricacies of the market with the crazy I see you do every night," he said. Cramer disagreed on points but acknowledged that he's "fair game," the AP reports.
"I, too, like you, want to have a successful show," said Cramer of his Mad Money. "Should we have been constantly pointing out the mistakes that were made? Absolutely. I truly wish we had done more." Cramer told Stewart, who's been ridiculing the entire CNBC network all week, that he's a "fan of the show." In response to Stewart's plea for more honest commentary, he responded, "How about I try that? I'll do that." But he insisted he's been tough on corporate "shenanigans."
