Sir Robert Allen Stanford expects an indictment from the feds in a couple of weeks, but maintained his innocence in an interview with ABC News. The disgraced financier cried and told his interlocutor, “I will punch you in the mouth” if he mentioned reports that Stanford laundered drug money. “It makes me madder than hell” he said of comparisons to Bernard Madoff.

Stanford also expressed dismay at having to fly commercial now that his private jet fleet has been confiscated. “They make you take your shoes off and everything, it’s terrible,” he said. He painted himself as a scapegoat. “I’m the maverick rich Texan where they can put the moose head on the wall. And that’s the only reason they went after me,” he said. “I’m fighting for my survival and for my integrity.” (More Robert Allen Stanford stories.)
