Google Earth Knows Its ABCs

From an A-shaped street crossing to a building in the form of a Z, an Australian man has spelled out the alphabet using Google Earth. Rhett Dashwood spent 6 months painstakingly scanning satellite images of his native state, Victoria, and found buildings or geographical landmarks in the shape of all 26 letters, reports the Telegraph.

Dashwood, a graphic designer, says he didn’t manipulate or even rotate any of the pictures. “There were no short cuts to finding them, but I did sense patterns emerging the further I searched which helped to guide how long I spent looking in particular areas." He says the trickiest letters to find were those where diagonal lines meet other lines, such as K, R, W, and Z.
