The former NBA referee accused of betting on league games will plead guilty today, according to an AP source. Tim Donaghy, whose lawyer declined comment, is expected to surrender in Brooklyn's federal court today. NBA commish David Stern has called Donaghy an "isolated criminal," and says his actions have no bearing on the league's credibility.

Donaghy resigned his post on July 9, several weeks after the FBI revealed its investigation to Stern and the NBA. Prosecutors are still probing the extent of Donaghy's actions, suspecting that he furnished officiating schedules and other inside data to members of illegal gambling rings. (More NBA stories.)
