The iPhone already handles many aspects of contemporary life—texts, emails, web surfing, phone calls—so why not prayer? That’s the idea behind “A Note to God,” an iPhone app being developed based on a write-in suggestion from a California teen, the Sacramento Bee reports. Allen Wright’s app, awaiting approval, would let users post prayers for the almighty and other users to see.
Fellow users can offer support with a “thumbs up” sign, though one Catholic priest warned of turning prayer into Twitter: “Prayer is direct to God, and God should be the primary motive,” Rev. James Murphy says. “If the motive is to be seen by others, be careful.” But, he adds, God hears all prayers, no matter the form: “You don’t have to have his e-mail address.” (More iPhone stories.)
