Twitter will introduce a new homepage next week “to better show who we are,” its co-founder tells Kara Swisher at All Things Digital. As it stands, the homepage is confusing to visitors intrigued by media reports, Biz Stone says. “We need to do a better job of explaining ourselves to people who hear about us and then have no idea what to do,” he explains.

Says Stone: “We have to turn a lot of awareness into engagement. Our front page is not reflective of that right now.” Swisher agrees: “The current main homepage is pretty lame,” she writes. The new page will feature a search box and information on tweeting trends and how to use the service. Another new feature, "Twitter 101," which aims to teach businesses how to tweet, is already live, CNET reports.
