Leading birther Orly Taitz had a shouting match with David Shuster on MSNBC yesterday, prompted by a document purporting to be proof President Obama was born in Kenya. The attorney called Shuster one of Obama's "Brownshirts in the media" before the feed was finally cut off, the Christian Science Monitor reports. As for the document, the eagle-eyed were quick to spot a few problems, the Washington Independent reports.

Among them: The document, alleged to be the president's real birth certificate, is dated Republic of Kenya, February 17 1964, when Kenya did not become an independent Republic until December that year. Nit-pickers also noted that the registrar is named as EF Lavender—Earth Friendly Lavender is a popular detergent in Kenya—and that the document gives the place of birth as Mombasa, a thousand miles away from where the Kenyan Obamas live and not a part of Kenya at the time the president was born.
