Around this time every year, “everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up,” President Obama said yesterday—and immediately, the media was aflutter, Politico reports. “WTF does wee-weed up mean and how do you spell it?” wondered a reporter for the Hill. Soon after, the jokes started rolling in: “Is this some Chicago phrase I don’t know about?” blogged Michelle Malkin.
“When will birthers start saying that 'wee-weed up' is an old Kenyan Muslim saying?” asked the Hill reporter. Noted a Weekly Standard writer: “My little brothers often weeweed up the pool in August.” Now, wee-weed up is a domain name (weeweedup.com) and a Twitter handle (@weeweed). Pundits finally decided it meant something like “riled up,” writes Patrick Gavin.
