Six people were arrested in a grisly kidnapping and assault case in rural West Virginia, and two others are still wanted. Police say an internet acquaintance delivered 23-year-old Meghan Williams to her assailants, who held her captive for at least a week, while stabbing, burning, and sexually assaulting her. “It’s something you’d see in a horror movie,” the county prosecutor said.

Police believe Williams' assailants planned to kill her, but discovered the shack where she was being held in time to save her, the Charleston Daily Mail reports. She was taken to the hospital for fear of gangrene infecting her wounds. FBI agents are investigating the case as a hate crime—Williams is black, and according to her mother, “Every time they stabbed her, they called her n-----.” (More Charleston stories.)
