Easy money, robust earnings prove a winning combination

Stocks rallied today as traders positioned themselves to profit off the next series of gains, spurred by the Fed's continuation of loose monetary policy and strong corporate earnings.

  • The Dow rose 203.52 points to close at 10,276.94.
  • The Nasdaq gained 41.62, settling at 2,154.06.
  • The S&P 500 added 23.77, closing at 1,093..07.
