Defiant Iran Scoffs at Sanctions

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said it was pointless for the international community to impose sanctions against Iran. The president remained defiant as ever in the face of a global consensus against the nation's nuclear program, and said threats of isolating the country were "ridiculous." Iran is fully capable of making its own fuel if shipments were cut off, Ahmadinejad said. "Any finger which is about to pull the trigger will be cut off."

"They need us more than we need them," he added in a TV interview. "It is psychological warfare and isolating Iran is impossible." The Iranian president also singled out Russia for joining the the IAEA in chastising his country for building an enrichment plant, reports the BBC. "Russia has a made a mistake," he said.
