Blair: I Would've Invaded Iraq Anyway

Tony Blair is unrepentant of his support for the Iraq war, telling a BBC interviewer that even if he'd known there were no weapons of mass destruction, "I would still have thought it right to remove him. I mean obviously you would have had to use and deploy different arguments, about the nature of the threat."

The former PM said it was more Saddam's overall "threat to the region of which the development of WMDs was obviously one" factor. Blair's comments drew fire from one key player: Hans Blix, who was head of the UN search team. He said Blair used WMD as a "convenient justification" for war.
