Nadya Suleman, better known as Octomom, offers up her best parenting advice—yes, really—to Babble. The highlights:

  • Her parenting philosophy: “Love with some boundaries and rules. I think religion is important. So are good manners, good role models, and a good education. I also try not to judge other parents.”
  • Life lessons for her kids: “Don’t get distracted or worry about what others think of you. Don’t let anyone else determine who you are and what you want to accomplish.”

  • On managing tantrums: “I try my best to calm the kids and if I can’t do it I’ll leave the store. I try not to feel pressure to have everything under control because all parents have been there.”
  • The most shocking part of motherhood: “The intensity and fierceness with which I love my children.”
  • Discipline: “Mutiny is not an option in my house!”
  • Favorite meal: “Mac and cheese, turkey, and homemade baby food.”
