Phils Battle Back to Snatch Win
Philadelphia Phillies' Jayson Werth, right, is greeted at the plate by Greg Dobbs (19) and Carlos Ruiz (51) after all scored on Werths three-run homer against the Washington Nationals in the seventh inning of their MLB baseball game at RFK Stadium in Washington, Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007. Jayson Werth hit a 3-run homer in the 7th and Jimmy Rollins knocked in the go-ahead run in the 8th to give the Phillies a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over the Nationals. That nudges them to within 1½ games of first place in the National League East.

With 9 games left to play, the Phillies trail the Mets by 2 games in the loss column. "I'm happy I've been able to contribute and help this team win," said Werth. "We've still got some games to play. We're right where we need to be." (More MLB stories.)
