Pittsburgh won yet another rout in giving San Francisco its first loss, 37-16. Allen Rossum's 98-yard kickoff return made rookie coach Mike Tomlin look prophetic, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Concerned about his return game, Tomlin picked up Rossum, 32, at season's beginning. In three games, Pittsburgh has drubbed its opponents 97-26.

With the win, Tomlin's record is 3-0. His predecessor, the huge-jawed Bill Cowher, also started his career with three wins.  "We're starting to show some personality, and that's what excited me," said Tomlin. His next opponent is Arizona, whose coach, Ken Whisenhunt, was previously Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator and the runner-up in Pittsburgh's coaching search. (More NFL stories.)
