Real Ben Folds Salutes Chatroulette Ben Folds

Turns out that's not really Ben Folds performing on Chatroulette. It's a guy named Merton. But the real Ben Folds has been inundated with so many questions about his doppelganger that he's offering a tribute of sorts in concerts, mimicking Merton's piano improv while watching Chatroulette. His "Ode to Merton" video is now a YouTube sensation, notes CNET.

That nugget comes in a larger CNET article making the case the Chatroulette isn't just for pervy guys, after all. Genuinely creative people seem to be taking advantage. "One of the most interesting ways people (are using Chatroulette) is doing these artistic creations," says a doctoral candidate at Georgia Tech who's been researching the site.
