Barack Obama is neglecting the US relationship with India and could undo the diplomatic progress made by the previous three administrations between the world's biggest democracies, writes Sumit Ganguly. Indian diplomats are annoyed as the US cozies up to Pakistan and backpedals on a deal to sell nuclear technology, but Obama is "largely oblivious," he writes.
"It's hard to understand why Washington would continue to neglect such a valuable ally," complains Ganguly at Newsweek. "India is a vast and growing market, a significant military player in South Asia, a growing force in global talks on climate change and nuclear nonproliferation." Meanwhile, Russia is moving in.
