The Obamas aren’t upset about the National Enquirer’s claim that Barack had an affair with Vera Baker—because they “know it’s all bullshit.” A source tells the Chicago Sun-Times the first couple knows that “unfortunately these false stories go with the territory when you live in the White House.” The Enquirer, meanwhile, removed its claim that there is video evidence—but don’t take that as a retraction!
“Sites who reported we 'retracted' our story over the weekend are incorrect,” says the executive editor, explaining that the Enquirer’s web post was reprinted from a sister publication and edited later, “but it had nothing to do with the info being wrong.” With only a limo driver’s testimony to go on and no video, New York notes, the story is no more credible now than when it first surfaced.
