Today is "Quit Facebook Day," and it you haven't heard of it—or have no plans to walk away from your 437 friends—you're not alone. PC Magazine reports that the effort to get the masses to abandon the social networking site looks like a bust. A recent survey of users found a slim 11% had even heard of the day, and only 22% of that group planned to go ahead and deactivate. As of today, the official site had just 27,191 "confirmed" quitters; less than peanuts, compared to the site's 400 million users.

"Too many users are just too vested in the service to delete their account and dismantle a social network they have cultivated over time," said an exec behind the survey. (More Facebook stories.)
