Actress Amy Locane, better known as Sandy from the original Melrose Place, has been charged with vehicular homicide, New Jersey police tell the Star-Ledger. The actress, whose married name is Locane-Bovenizer, allegedly struck another vehicle last night, killing the passenger and seriously injuring the driver. The actress is also accused of an earlier hit-and-run accident that caused no injuries.
The driver from the first crash attempted to call police, but Locane-Bovenizer drove away. He told police she was "swerving and knocking down several mailboxes." Locane-Bovenizer said she had drunk several glasses of wine, according to the police report. She faces 5 to 10 years in prison if convicted.
