(AP Photo/Susan Walsh, File) Nancy Pelosi isn't happy with Robert Gibbs' forecast about the midterms. At a House Democratic Caucus meeting this week, she described him as "politically inept" for acknowledging that Republicans could regain the House in November, reports CQ Politics. “It was bad,” said one source. “She was like: ‘I don’t appreciate it. I don’t know who this guy is. I’ve never met him before. And he’s saying that we’re going to lose the House.’” At one point, a "very upset" Pelosi asked a White House rep at the meeting whether Gibbs was speaking for himself or the White House, and the liaison responded that Gibbs appeared to be speaking off the cuff. The press chief has been doing damage control in recent days. Today, he said he had a "cordial" relationship with the speaker and emphatically predicted that Democrats "will retain the House and Senate," Politico reports. (More Nancy Pelosi stories.)
