Apple has a solution to what Steve Jobs calls “Antennagate.” No, it’s not going to recall the iPhone 4, but it is going to give each disgruntled user a free case! Jobs seemed just a wee bit unapologetic at a press conference today, kicking things off with a YouTube song that goes, “If you don’t like the iPhone 4, don’t buy it.” He admitted he phone drops more calls than the iPhone 3GS but says that represents, by Apple’s count, less than one additional call per hundred.

“We’re not perfect,” Jobs admitted, according to All Things Digital’s liveblog. But he noted other phones have similar issues. “This is life in the smartphone industry.” He said people were complaining only because they could see the “dead spot” on the outside of the phone. He added that not that many people were complaining, because only 0.55% of customers called Applecare about it. But just in case anyone is upset, Apple will provide a free case, or a refund for people who've already bought cases. Still not happy? Return the phone. Apple will waive the restocking fee.
