OK, so this isn’t anywhere near as bad as thinking Africa was a country, but Sarah Palin has messed up her geography once again. In a Facebook post endorsing New Hampshire Senate candidate Kelly Ayotte, Palin said she was headed to Kodiak, Alaska, “America’s largest island.” But that’s not even close to true, the AP points out: Hawaii’s Big Island is 440 square miles larger than Kodiak.

Palin also goofed when describing Ayotte’s defense of a New Hampshire law requiring doctors to notify parents when their teen daughters sought abortions. When Planned Parenthood challenged the law, “Kelly fought them all the way to the Supreme Court and won,” Palin crowed. Wrong. The court actually tossed the case to a lower court, which overturned the law. (More Sarah Palin stories.)
