Police acting on tips have found eight severed heads dumped in pairs along roads in Durango, Mexico. The victims all appear to be males between the ages of 25 and 30, but cops haven’t identified them or found their bodies, the BBC reports.

Four journalists have been reported missing in the northern Mexican state since Monday, and they are believed to have been abducted by drug cartels, the AP reports. Durango has been a battleground for the Gulf and Sinaloa cartels in recent months, and prison officials have been accused of freeing inmates temporarily to carry out cartel killings.
