The woman whose recounting of a bizarre college experience landed Tea Partier Rand Paul in a heap of controversy is seeking to clarify her story: Paul never kidnapped her or forced her to do drugs. "The whole thing has been blown out of proportion," the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells Greg Sargent of the Plum Line blog at the Washington Post. She did, however, confirm that Paul and another friend tied her up, egged her on to smoke pot, and asked her to worship the "aqua Buddha."

"They didn't force me, they didn't make me. They were creating this drama: `We're messing with you.' I went along because they were my friends," the woman said. "There was an implicit degree of cooperation in the whole thing. I felt like I was being hazed." So it wasn't criminal, but still creepy enough to prompt the woman to stop hanging out with Paul and his pals. The original GQ article is here, with a summary here.
