The Rutgers Scarlet Knights faked and sacked their way to a 30-27 victory over the second-ranked South Florida Bulls last night, marking the fifth time this season that a top-three team has fallen to an underdog. Though Rutgers quarterback Mike Teel threw home two touchdown passes, it was the Knights' special teams that ruled the day, reports NJ.com.

Kicker Jeremy Ito knocked in three field goals for Rutgers, setting up one of them by nailing a 36-yard pass on a fake punt. On a later fake field goal play, placeholder Andrew DePaola made his first college pass for a 15-yard touchdown. Rutgers' defense stepped up as well, sacking USF's Matt Grothe seven times for a loss of 60 yards. (More NCAA football stories.)
