Mitt Romney may call himself electable, but come November, Democrats would be more than happy to challenge that assumption. Democratic strategist Donna Brazile declared Romney the victor of Saturday's New Hampshire debate, calling the win "good news for us," notes Michael Walsh in the New York Post. "We believe that the weakest candidate is the candidate that the Republicans are not attacking. And that’s Mitt Romney," she said. And she's right: The Democrats have plenty of ammo against the former governor, Walsh writes.
"Democrats and their media allies have been busy measuring Romney for the Occupy Wall Street/One Percenter memorial bad-guy suit," Walsh writes. "They can’t wait to rip him apart over his background as a corporate turnaround specialist who may have saved some golden parachutes but put ordinary folks out of work." In short, Dems think he's the "perfect foil for President Obama." If the GOP establishment gets its way and Romney is the nominee, his fellow Republicans had better bloody him a bit: The GOP needs its "toughest candidate" on Election Day. (More Democrats stories.)
