Long-form, schmlong-form. The birthers are at it again, and this time they're not just after Barack Obama—they're going for Mitt Romney, too. Republican primary write-in candidate John Dummett Jr. and six like-minded birthers have filed a lawsuit demanding the California secretary of state check the eligibility of all presidential candidates before putting them on November's ballot, the LA Times reports. The suit specifically mentions “questions concerning the eligibility” of Romney.

A lawyer for the group clarified that they wanted Romney checked because his dad was born in Mexico. But make no mistake, despite all evidence, Obama is still in their crosshairs. One of the plaintiffs, Markham Robinson, was one of several plaintiffs questioning Obama's eligibility in a lawsuit filed on the day of his inauguration. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals threw that lawsuit out, telling them it should have been filed during an election. The new suit notes that they are acting on that advice.
