'Chatty Cathy' Is Our National Security Adviser

Peggy Noonan weighs in on all the leaks coming out of the White House these days and bestows a new name on national security adviser Tom Donilon: "When I was a child, there was a doll called Chatty Cathy," she writes in the Wall Street Journal. "You pulled a string in her back, and she babbled inanely. Tom Donilon appears to be the Chatty Cathy of the American intelligence community."

Noonan is in the camp that thinks the leaks—like the ones about the "kill list" and Stuxnet—are an orchestrated attempt by the White House to make President Obama look tough, which she finds disgraceful. "National security doesn't exist to help presidents win elections," she writes. "It's not a plaything or a tool to advance one's prospects." Read her full column here. Need a rebuttal?
